TOTALLY no sweets?

Well, good news is you can still eat sweets and drink sweet drinks BUT the frequency of eating is more important than the amount you take in each time. meaning? it's better to gulp down the coke within a short period of time than to sip it than leave it for sometime and sip again.

Reason? in a form of analogy: The teeth gets corroded by the acid (soft drinks have PH of about 2.6) and usually get remineralized aka "repaired" by the saliva "repairman". It takes time to "repair" though, and if you keep drinking the coke, you are destroying the repair work each time he's about to finish. Like building a sandcastle, each time you are about to finish the top, the wave wash away your foundation so you can never reach the top to stick the flag.

well nevertheless it's still better for children to eat less sweets as their milk teeth are easier to corrode than adults'.
